Ciryl Gane is facing Derrick Lewis at UFC 265 but gave his prediction for Francis Ngannou vs Jon Jones

The UFC would be crowning an interim Heavyweight Champion at UFC 265. Ciryl Gane, the undefeated Frenchman, takes on Derrick Lewis, who has the most KOs in UFC history.

The fight is going to be something special but originally, Francis Ngannou was to fight on the card. Ngannou won the Heavyweight title from Stipe Miocic a few months back and was to defend the same against Lewis, however, the fight fell through.

The interim clash will be great too as Gane has looked incredible in his short UFC career so far. However, he was asked about another big fight during a quick Twitter Q+A session. A fan asked Gane to share his prediction between Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones.

Gane backed Ngannou to get the win, despite Jones being one of the greatest Light Heavyweights ever in the history of the sport.

Jones vs Ngannou had also been teased ever since Bones relinquished his UFC Light Heavyweight title. However, that fight also doesn’t seem to be close and we could see Ngannou take on the winner of Lewis and Gane after UFC 265.

The interim belt doesn’t always feel like the right title and Gane also shared the same thoughts. He was asked if a win would see him become the champion or if he needed to face Ngannou later on.

Gane replied that he would feel like the No.1 contender, signalling that Ngannou is also on his mind.

UFC 265 will be an interesting outing as this is a real big test for Gane. Lewis is one of the most dangerous stars on the UFC roster and one wrong move from the Frenchman could end his title dreams in a second.
