UFC fighter Charles Oliveira makes another donation to hometown community

UFC lightweight fighter is making the headlines for all the right reasons; be it inside the octagon or outside it, the Brazilian is winning over the heart of UFC fans.

Last week, he made a donation to the people of his community in his hometown of Guaraja, Sao Paolo in Brazil. He is actively donating food and basic amenities to people hit by the coronavirus pandemic in his hometown.

The Brazilian lightweight fighter feels that the pandemic has rendered a lot of people helpless. He aims to help as many with his donations which he has been handing out himself.

And now, he donated food items again on the eve of new year on 31st December. The submission specialist was spotted in his hometown of Guaruja, helping the needy by handing out packets of chicken.

The gesture has met widespread approval from the MMA community as it is rare to see an established fighter to go out of his way to help out the needy by doing the groundwork themselves.

Charles Oliveira had a smashing 2020 in UFC

He kicked off his 2020 by facing Kevin Lee in the main event of UFC Fight Night 170 in March. He couldn’t made the weight but won the catchweight bout via submission.

This saw him extend his record of most submission wins in the UFC with 14. He was then scheduled to fight against Beneil Dariush at Fight Island 4 in October, but pulled out.

All eyes were on him as he faced Tony ‘El Cucuy’ Ferguson at UFC 256 in the co-main event on December 13th.

His dominant performance saw him win via a unanimous decision. The fight brought a lot of attention of him and his name is now being thrown in the ring as a potential lightweight contender.
