Anderson Silva provides update on boxing future after beating Julio Cesar Chavez Jr

Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva made a stunning return to boxing against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Anderson Silva’s long list of achievements keeps getting longer and longer. The Brazilian legend who is 46 years old now, saw off Mexican professional boxer Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. via. split decision.

This was ‘The Spider’s first pro-boxing fight in almost 16 years. The fight went the full eight-rounds, and Silva was miles clear of Chavez Jr. who was 10-years younger than him.

At the end of the 8 rounds, Silva scored 77-75 on two judges’ scorecard, while the other handed 77-75 to Chavez.

An elated Silva was overcome with joy, even as a dejected and frustrated Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., Chavez Jr’s dad looked on.

Following the fight, Silva claimed that he would probably fight again very soon. The Brazilian did look in serious shape ahead of the fight, often sharing training videos of himself.

Silva told: “Maybe I’ll fight very soon.”

A fight against boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. is probably on the cards for ‘The Spider’.

Jake Paul has a suggestion for Anderson Silva

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul was quick to congratulate Anderson Silva on his success. Paul, who is set to take on Tyron Woodley in a professional boxing bout on the 28th of August, this year, had a suggestion for the Brazilian legend.

Taking to Twitter he claimed that it would be an honor to have Silva take on Roy Jones Jr. on the same card he fights Woodley.

Paul wrote:

“Respect to Anderson Silva @spideranderson on the win….vc é uma lenda brasileira! Would be an honor to have him vs Roy Jones Jr on the same card as Tyron and I.”

Paul once fought in Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr. undercard. He took on Nate Robinson that night, and beat the basketballer via. second-round KO.
