“Next fight…Maybe”- Anderson Silva hints at a possible fight with YouTuber Logan Paul next

Anderson Silva returned to professional-boxing after almost 16 years

UFC Legend Anderson Silva put on a stellar show against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in Chavez’s own backyard- Mexico.

Silva outscored Chavez Jr. in eight rounds to win the fight via. split decision. ‘The Spider’ scored 77-75 on two judges’ scorecard which was enough to seal his victory despite the other referee awarding the same score to Chavez Jr.

Chavez Jr. was more than 10 years younger than Silva and had at least 60 fights more than Silva in his boxing resume, and yet Silva came out on top.

Silva claimed that this was only the sign of things to come, and that he had more in store for the future.

Following the fight, Silva spoke about the Paul brothers- the YouTubers who have taken the boxing world by storm. ‘The Spider’ had immense respect for the young celebrities, and claimed that he admired them and liked them a lot.

Silva even went on to divulge that he may have his next fight against Logan Paul.

Speaking in an interview with MMA Junkie, Silva said:

“I respect both. I have a great relationship with both the brothers and I think this is possible too, you know. That’s entertaining. His fight [against Mayweather] was entertaining and Logan and his brother are amazing guys. People say they talk a lot about the guys but they are good persons and I respect both. I think everything is possible and I think the next fight is maybe, with Logan Paul.”

Silva has fought just thrice inside a boxing ring. He made his pro-boxing debut in 1998, taking on Osmar Luiz Teixeira. Silva lost the fight due to a corner stoppage in the very first round.

Then, 7 years later, Silva stopped fellow Brazilian Julio Cesar de Jesus in the second round via knockout.

And now 16 years later, at the ripe old age of 46, he has left his mark again in the combat sports world with an incredible victory and is showing no signs of stopping. Big up, ‘The Spider’!
