Anderson Silva cutting weight as he wants Dana White to setup ‘super fight’ against Conor McGregor

Anderson Silva sent a video to Chael Sonnen regarding his proposed fight against Conor McGregor

UFC legend Anderson Silva recently shared a video to Chael Sonnen regarding his super fight against Conor McGregor.

The Brazilian hasn’t been in action since UFC 237 where he lost to Jared Cannonier. Silva is former UFC Middleweight Champion but moved up to to the Light Heavyweight division for his final fights.

There has been talk of a super fight recently between him and McGregor. Sonnen shared the video from Silva where he greeted his former rival before saying that McGregor was also ready for the fight and it was up to Dana White to get it done:

“Hey what’s up Chael? How are you doing buddy?

“I talk about my fight with Conor [McGregor], super fight, and I start to cut weight.”

Silva also stated that there might be talks of him being in a different weight class than McGregor, but he was still preparing:

“I start training and I am ready for that. Conor ready too and its the one thing, Dana White has to make this fight real.”

Looking in great shape

McGregor, for his part, has fought in the Welterweight division recently and Silva would have to come down a couple of divisions at least to face the Irishman.

That will take a toll on his body but Silva looked happy and upbeat in his clip, something that Sonnen spoke about.

The UFC legend claimed that Silva seemed to be in great shape and wanted the fight too. He added that he was also pushing for the pair to fight and it will be interesting to see if this takes place anytime soon.

Silva vs McGregor could be that one fight that gets a lot of people interested. Age is a factor of course with Silva being 45. However, the Brazilian is one of the greatest ever and could perform some magic once he returns to the Octagon.
