Muhammad Mokaev was born in Buynaksk, Republic of Dagestan, but he and his father left Russia soon after his mother’s death, when Muhammad was 12 years old. They ultimately settled in Manchester, England, close to where Mokaev now trains.

The Punisher says he turned down the sportsbook’s $200,000 sponsorship offer:

“Got offered $200,000 for sponsorship from betting company
But I said once and will say again I will never advertise gambling, alcohol or drugs. Allah gave me more than I asked , alhamdulillah I have more than I I asked God 10 years ago!”

Mokaev is undefeated at 9-0, with three of those victories coming in the UFC. The 22-year-old will fight in front of family and friends at UFC 286 against Jafel Filho on March 18 in London.

Muhammad Mokaev promises to be the youngest champion in UFC history

Mokaev made his MMA amateur debut in November 2015 and had four victories by the end of the 2016 calendar year. Mokaev became the flyweight champion for Tanko FC on February 11, 2017, after defeating his opponent via unanimous decision. During this period, he was 16 years old.
For the next four years, he would remain unbeaten and win the IMMAF Amateur junior bantamweight title in 2018 and 2019. Initially, Mokaev began training in mixed martial arts at the Kaobon MMA facility in Liverpool under the direction of Colin Heron. He obtained his gym membership through his employment cleaning mats at the club.

In 3 fights under the UFC banner, Mokaev has showed promise and aims to become the youngest UFC champion. The record is currently held by Jon Jones:

“InshaAllah youngest champion in the @ufc history!”
