34-year old kickboxer Alex Pereira from Sao Paulo, Brazil is set to make his UFC debut soon. ‘Po Atan’ will be stepping inside the Octagon in November at UFC 268.

His opponent is set to be Andreas Michailidis – a Greek fighter who is 2 fights old in the UFC. The news was confirmed by MMA Fighting.

Pereira brings with him a legion of experience from his GLORY kickboxing, Kunlun Fighting days.

The Brazilian also has a couple of MMA fights to his record as well.

Pereira’s kickboxing record reads, an impressive 33 wins and 6 losses. He made his debut almost 15 years ago, and has gone on to win the GLORY Middleweight and Light-heavyweight championship.

His last kickboxing fight was in January this year, against Artem Vakhitov at GLORY 77 in Rotterdam. He won the GLORY Light-heavyweight title that night.

Pereira also has one professional boxing fight to his name. He fought Marcelo de Souza Cruz in 2017, and won via. TKO in the third round.

The Brazilian made his MMA debut in October 2015 at Jungle Fight. He currently has a record of 3 wins and 1 loss.

Alex Pereira is the only man to knock Israel Adesanya out

Israel Adesanya is the reigning king of the middleweight division. He has been unstoppable ever since joining the UFC.

With no knockout or submission losses to his name, Adesanya is certainly a tough nut to crack.

However, prior to becoming a full-time mixed martial artist, Adesanya was a kickboxer. He has fought in 80 kickboxing contests and has won a staggering 75 of them.

Out of those 5 losses, only one has been via. knockout. And the man who holds the incredible record? – Alex Pereira.

It was the 4th of March, 2017. At Glory of Heroes 7 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, a clean left hook from Pereira in the third round had Izzy seeing stars.

‘The Last Stylebender’ was knocked out for the first time in his career. And it is still the only time he has ever been knocked out.

Pereira still brags about the same.
