Colby Covington believes he has a broken right leg after being seen on crutches after UFC 268

‘Chaos’ Colby Covington put on a show at UFC 268 but he was unable to get the better of Kamaru Usman.

The challenger had a rematch for the UFC Welterweight title, but it was just not to be despite a spirited effort.

It seemed that Usman had the better of his rival with two knockdowns in the early rounds. However, Covington came roaring back in the third and the fifth and final round was the decider.

Usman was able to recollect himself and get over the line, and for once, both stars had a ton of respect for each other.

Covington got the worst of it in the early rounds with his face being battered. But there is no doubt, he has come as close as anyone to dethroning the champion, Usman.

However, there seems to be another major injury for Covington. He was seen walking backstage on crutches and was asked about this during the post-match press conference.

Covington was asked about his hobbling and he claimed that he probably broke his leg during the fight and would need it x-rayed.

“Yeah, I was compromised in the first or second round like I landed a calf kick and it landed on his knee and I felt it explode right away.

“Probably broken, have to get x-rayed when I get back.”

Covington added that he was fighting for the first responders and law enforcement stars of America, and he was not going to quit on them.

It will be interesting to see when Covington is back in action given his injured leg. He could be out for a few months but there is no doubt he is one of the best in the UFC presently.
