1- Liverpool 4-4 Everton (1991)

Whenever Liverpool and Everton come up against each other, fans get to see a spectacular display of football. One of the most memorable matches between the two Merseyside rivals came in the FA Cup fifth-round replay at Goodison Park in 1991.

Both sides competed fiercely and left no stones unturned to earn the derby bragging rights. Peter Beardsley fired the Reds ahead but Graeme Sharp equalled the scores two minutes into the second half. Beardsley struck again for his side through a superb left-footed shot, only for Sharp to pop up with an equalizer once again.

The fate of the game swung massively in favour of Liverpool when Ian Rush headed past the keeper to score the third goal for his side. However, the Toffees managed to level the scores again in the dying seconds through Tony Cottee.

In extra time, John Barnes struck a spectacular goal for the Reds and their fans started celebrating that they had ultimately won the game. But they were once again pegged back, and it was Cottee who smashed the goal that earned them a 4-4 draw.

Everton went on to win the replay 1-0, with Dave Watson’s strike proving decisive in the game.

2- Liverpool 4-0 Everton (2014)

This was one of the biggest derby victories for Liverpool who looked unstoppable that day at Anfield in 2014. The two Merseyside rivals looked evenly matched in the beginning but the contest looked one-sided after Steven Gerrard nodded in the opener.

Striker Daniel Sturridge was in the form of his life as he struck two goals in three minutes to put the game beyond the Toffees. Everton failed to respond with a goal while Liverpoolthreatened to add to their score-line in the second half. Luis Suarez got on the scoresheet to make it an emphatic score-line before Sturridge squandered a big scoring opportunity from the spot.
