Tottenham Opinion: Why Spurs should go all out to sign Daniele Baselli?
Tottenham’s failure to not sign a single player in the past two transfer windows is proving to be a costly decision as Mauricio Pochettino’s side could potentially drop out of the top four at the end of the season
A lack of squad depth has mightily derailed Spurs’ progress, with Pochettino’s side failing to perform with the same intensity in different competitions. After not spending a single penny in the past two windows, Pochettino has to invest massively to address the problems in the squad.
And the central midfield position should be prioritised by the Tottenham manager, with a replacement for Mousa Dembele desperately needed ahead of the next season. Keeping that in mind, Tottenham should make a move for Torino star Daniele Baselli.
At the moment, Torino sit sixth in the Serie A and are just three points off fifth-placed AS Roma. Torino have not exactly been an excellent side going forward but defensively, they have been top class.

Baselli has scored four goals and assisted three times in 27 games across all competitions. The one-cap Italy international has been one of the prime reasons why Torino have ticked over under Walter Mazzarri.
An all-action midfielder, the 27-year-old is a clean tackler and an accomplished passer of the ball. Baselli is elegant in whatever he does and generally likes to keep things simple in the middle of the park. The Italian’s movement is quite dangerous as he has the tendency to arrive late in the box and score goals.
Calm and composed on the ball, Baselli has a good technique and a passing range which helps him initiate attacks from the base of the midfield. He is more than capable of sticking out his foot and cutting out the attacks with some crunching challenges.
