The 58-year-old Olajuwon scored 725 points in the 1995 playoffs. According to basketballreference.com, he took 22 playoff games to reach the record. He also won the 1995 NBA championship.

Nickname as ‘the dream’, Olajuwon has two NBA titles (1994, 1995) to his name. He was also two times NBA Finals MVP (1994, 1995). He also won a gold medal in the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, representing the United States.

He spent the majority of his career with the Houston Rockets and won two championships with them. Later, he retired in 2002, as a Toronto Raptors player.

5. Allen Iverson

‘The Answer’ or ‘AI’ scored 723 points in the 2001 playoffs. According to landofbasketball.com, Iverson took 22 playoff games to score the record. Iverson made 661 field goal attempts, scoring 257 of them.

However, he was unable to win the 2001 NBA Finals as Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’ Neal led the Los Angeles Lakers to victory. Philadelphia 76ers lost the series 4-1.

Iverson was 2000-2001 NBA MVP but was unable to win an NBA championship. He finally retired from the NBA in 2010 as a Philadelphia 76ers player. In his honor, the Sixers retired his jersey number 3. He is also inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame as a player.

Nevertheless, he won a bronze medal in the 2004 Athens Olympics, representing the United States. He also won a gold medal at the FIBA Americas Championship, representing America.
