Tony Ferguson is one of the biggest names in the UFC yet to be the undisputed champion. Fate has played a role in preventing him fighting against Khabib Nurmagomedov, and we may never see that clash.

He played three sports during his college days with Football, wrestling and baseball as his interests.

Ferguson has never looked back since then and has won several awards and bonuses for his performances.

He is married to Cristina Ferguson and has two children with his wife Cristina.

Ferguson’s first six-figure pay out was in the win over Mike Rio at UFC 166 where he earned $100,000. While Ferguson has earned Fight of the Night and Performance of the Night awards several times, his last few fights have been incredible from a pay out point of view.

He made $530,000 in the win over Kevin Lee and the same amount in the loss to Justin Gaethje too. In 2022, he lost against Nate Diaz and Michael Chandler.

Ferguson will fight Bobby Green at UFC 291 on Saturday.

Tony Ferguson MMA record

He won his next two fights before losing to Michael Edwards and reaching 13-3. However, he went on a crazy rampage of wins and was undefeated from 2013 to 2019. Ferguson won the UFC Lightweight interim title during this run but was stripped of it due to injury.

He was to face Khabib Nurmagomedov several times but this fight has been cancelled for one reason or another.

They were to meet again at UFC 249 but fate played its role. Coronavirus kept Khabib stuck in Russia and Justin Gaethje replaced the Russian.

This was again for the interim title but Ferguson lost this at UFC 249 and followed that up with a loss to Charles Oliveira at UFC 256.

Ferguson’s luck didn’t improve in his next fight either as he was dominated by Beneil Dariush.

For the first time in his career, Ferguson was knocked out by a fiery Michael Chandler at UFC 274. However, he will hope to bounce back with a win at UFC 291.
