Three budget strikers Everton should look to sign this January

The forwards at Everton have been wasteful at times and have struggled to score goals. As a result, Marco Silva needs to find a striker to solve their problems up front. Its been two transfer windows since Romelu Lukaku left for Manchester United but Everton have failed to replace the striker.

The Toffees have found goals hard to come by at times this season, with the strikers lacking ruthlessness in front of the goal. Both Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have been wasteful and haven’t scored in the league since the Blues faced Crystal Palace in late October.

Other than Tosun and Calvert-Lewin, Silva has Oumar Niasse in his attacking ranks but the Senegalese has been equally inefficient in front of the goal and has found himself on the sidelines.

Although their new arrival this summer Richarlison has had a decent start to life at the Merseyside and has scored 7 goals so far, Everton have struggled to get going in the scoring department.

Silva just cannot rely on his current crop of strikers to reach the top six and here are three potential strikers Everton must look to bring in during the winter transfer window.

Troy Deeney

The Watford captain has proven himself in the Premier League. His physicality and clinical finishing would perfectly fit the bill at Goodison Park.

The 30-year-old has continued to fire on all cylinders for Watford this season and though he is not the fastest, his control and composure in the opponent’s box makes him an efficient striker. Furthermore, Silva shouldn’t have trouble working with him since they were together during his Hornets’ days. Deeney’s presence could really change things up front for Everton.

Callum Wilson

The in-form man of the moment, Callum Wilson has done superbly to elevate Bournemouth to where they are in the Premier League currently. At 26, Wilson is approaching his prime years and given the potential he has shown at Bournemouth, there is every possibility of him leading the line for a big club.

With a solid goal record, Wilson looks ready to take the next step in his career. Silva is in dire need of a player with pace and finishing abilities to lead the line for Everton and he would find all that and more in Wilson.

Danny Welbeck

Danny Welbeck

Way down the pecking order at Arsenal behind the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Danny Welbeck could be the perfect short-term fix for Silva. He is quick, smart and has impressive finishing abilities.

Welbeck has all the ingredients to be the man leading the line at Goodison Park and could forge a readymade relationship with former Gunners teammate Theo Walcott. Although a history of injuries and lack of form may have hampered his progress, Welbeck brings a lot more to the game than just goals.

With his slick passing abilities and clever moves, he could form a formidable trio alongside Richarlison and Walcott.
