Lille have always been quite famous for producing some of the best players that have graced the footballing world. A prime example for this quality is former Lille man and current Chelsea star Eden Hazard. The Belgian began his career at Lille and it was here that he really rose to supremacy in a Ligue 1 winning season.
While multiple quality players have come and gone since the Belgian made the switch across the English Channel, it’s only now that a worthy successor has arrived through the Lille ranks. Ivorian international winger Nicolas Pepe has been in the form of his life, in what could be considered his real breakthrough season.
The pacy winger has outclassed defenders of all types over the course of the campaign and that even included a masterclass against Paris Saint-Germain – a 5-1 thrashing of the defending champions at the Stade Pierre Mauroy – in which Nicolas Pepe was on the spot to score one of their goals.
He has been nearly unplayable at times this season and the rate at which he is maturing and developing as a player has been meteoric. Boasting excellent close control and dribbling skills, the winger shows brilliant movement on the ball making him nearly impossible to man-mark.
He also has a trademark curling effort that often uses to stun goalkeepers while he generates an inexplicable out of power with his feet too. Capable of dribbling entire teams on his day, a move to the Premier League could be in the best interest of this talented winger’s bright future.
According to a recent report by the Express, the Lille winger has been linked with a potential move to three of the Premier League’s biggest clubs. While Manchester United are said to be looking to replace Romelu Lukaku with the speedster, it has been claimed that Chelsea and Liverpool are also keen on his services.

Manchester United.
It has been suggested in the report that United could be preparing for life without Romelu Lukaku, as the Belgian is said to be eyeing up a potential transfer to Juventus or Inter Milan in the Serie A. Nicolas Pepe has the right attributes to come into the Old Trafford ranks and really provide an excellent forward option.
Chelsea
With Willian and Pedro now ageing, this is the perfect time for Chelsea to bring in someone of Pepe’s calibre as a long-term replacement.
