Chelsea were unable to take advantage of a good opportunity to carry a first-leg lead back to Stamford Bridge. Despite putting in a fairly dominant display, the Blues were made to settle to a 1-1 draw because of some good defending and sheer bad fortune.
But overall, Chelsea will be more than happy with the final result considering that this tie occurred in Frankfurt. With an away goal to carry back to Stamford Bridge as well, the Blues will be quietly confident about making it the final of this season’s Europa League.
