Premier League Opinion: 2 ideal PL landing spots for Franck Kessie

According to a recent report by the Express, AC Milan’s Ivory Coast international midfielder Franck Kessie is attracting a lot of interest from the Premier League with some of the biggest clubs in the competition said to be fighting for the youngster’s signature.

While it has been suggested that Arsenal and Tottenham are leading the pack in the race for the Ivorian’s services, fellow London side West Ham United are also said to have thrown their name into the hat more recently.

Kessie currently plies his trade for AC Milan in the Serie A and since making the initial loan switch from Atalanta in the summer of 2017, he has impressed and made a place for himself in the first-team.

His deal can be made permanent by the Italian side as of this summer but despite this, the interest from the Premier League hasn’t subsided. Although Milan will have to pay around £24m to sign the Ivorian, it has been suggested that they are willing to listen to offers in the region of £30m

The 22-year-old played in 34 Serie A games for Milan last season and managed to finish with a reasonable tally of 7 goals and 3 assists. Although he wasn’t nearly as influential as he could’ve been, there were glimpses of him quality scattered along the course of the campaign.

His dribbling can be quite scary to defend against considering that he boasts a large frame and produces considerable speed. He is an excellent striker of the ball who often scores from inexplicable distances as well.

Here are the 2 PL Clubs where he would be best suited:

West Ham United

The Hammers will be looking to push into the European places when the next Premier League season kicks off. Although they made multiple brilliant signings last season, injury troubles made it very hard for them to reach maximum potential.

The acquisition of a superstar like Kessie will certainly be a statement from the London Stadium. Not just that, his ability to bully the midfield and win back possession will certainly help the Hammers’ cause as well.

Arsenal

The Gunners’ urgent need for positive reinforcements in most positions is quite clear to see and although moving for a defender to try and plug the hole at the back could be the smart choice, the addition of a player like Kessie certainly wouldn’t hurt them.

In fact, his physical presence in the middle of the park could be Unai Emery’s answer to utilising Mesut Ozil in midfield. The Ivorian excellent work-rate will be enough to cover for the German’s alarming lack of it.
