3 Premier League managers likely to be sacked in the near future
Managers are one of the most crucial figures at any other football club and they have the ability to either make or break the entire complexion of the team.
Finding the right manager can lead to a vast multitude of fame and trophies – just like Jurgen Klopp has been a miracle-worker for Liverpool. However, there are also situations where things simply refuse to budge and do not work out whatsoever.
With that in mind, here are 3 Premier League managers who seem most likely to get sacked in the near future.
Unai Emery – Arsenal
Following Arsenal legend Emmanuel Petit scathing comments as to how the players have lost faith in Unai Emery (h/t The Metro), things could change at a rapid pace for the Frenchman.
Prior to being in charge of the Gunners, Emery enjoyed an illustrious career at cash-rich Paris Saint-Germain. Joining Arsenal seemed like the next big challenge but unfortunately for the 48-year-old, nothing has worked out so far.
Currently placed 6th on the table, they have won merely 4 games while drawing 5 and losing 3. That may not look bad on paper but a negative goal difference is certainly an alarming sign.
Thus, if things do not improve anytime soon, the Arsenal board will have some tough decisions to make.
Marco Silva – Everton
Marco Silva’s tenure at Watford seemed immensely promising initially but the Premier League is kind to no one and eventually, their form deteriorated.
Snapped up by Everton shortly after, the Toffees reaped the benefits of his presence. The addition of Richarlison was also a boon and yet, the Merseysiders are far from safety right now.
With a paltry 14 points from 12 games, Silva’s men were dangerously close to the relegation zone but are now placed 15th in the table. Despite showing initial signs of promise, Silva could find his job in jeopardy if he is unable to turn the situation around.
OIe Gunnar Solskjaer – Manchester United
After Jose Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United, it only seemed natural for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to take charge as the interim manager. But after a decent run of sorts, the club appointed him permanently.
To say that the Red Devils are struggling would be an understatement. They started things off on the right note with a thumping win against Chelsea but since then, United have hardly looked like title contenders.
With a shaky defence, weak midfield and blunt attack, perhaps it is time for Solskjaer to bid adieu.
