Naomi Osaka enjoyed watching her home nation, Japan shocking the 2010 World Cup champions Spain in an important Group E clash at the Fifa World Cup.

Japan made it to the round of 16 by defeating two former champs, Germany and Spain in what was a pretty tough group. The Asian country has made it to the knockouts at the FIFA World Cup for the second time in consecutive editions. Japan will lock horns with Croatia up next in the round of 16 on Monday.

Japan’s come-from-behind 2-1 win against Spain has garnered a lot of praise from fans and experts. Social media is buzzing and Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka has also posted her reaction to the epic win.

The 4-time Grand Slam champion posted an edited picture on Twitter of a team photo of the Japanese football team with anime characters replacing the faces.

Kei Nishikori also reacts to Japan’s sensational triumph

Japanese tennis pro – Kei Nishikori missed the whole of the 2022 season owing to a hip injury sustained right before the season got underway. He also went under the knife, earlier in the year.

The 32-year-old is a former world No. 4 in the ATP rankings and finished runner-up at the 2014 edition of the US Open in Flushing Meadows. He became the first male player representing an Asian country to reach a Grand Slam singles final.

He shared a post regarding Japan’s win versus Spain on his Twitter account and posted his country’s flag in the caption.
