French tennis star Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who has not been in the best of forms of late grabbed the headlines recently after he auctioned one of his prized possessions for a humanitarian purpose.
The 2008 Australian Open finalist won the hearts of tennis fans from around the globe by handing over his shirt for an auction in a bid to raise money to help medical staff fighting the coronavirus pandemic in France.
He auctioned his t-shirt which he had worn in his iconic win against Swiss genius Roger Federer in the 2014 Rogers Cup Final in Toronto.
The former World No.5’s humanitarian act grabbed the attention of millions of his followers who soon took to Twitter to congratulate the Frenchman. Here are a few responses to his tweet:

Tsonga wrote on Twitter alongside a post with a photo of himself standing with his autographed jersey.
The 2017 Davis Cup winner is currently at home as part of the self-isolation process required to curb the spread of the virus.

Tsonga had auctioned his jersey as part of this initiative and posted a video of himself. He was requesting his followers to make a donation on the platform dedicated to this initiative.
Tsonga joins stars such as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic who have made donations to fight the pandemic virus.
