3-time Grand Slam champion Andy Murray has been conferred with the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award for the year 2022.
The British veteran is still putting in the hard yards on the court. He didn’t manage to win a title but finished runner-up in the Sydney International and the Stuttgart Open. Andy Murray also registered his 700th match win during the year. He also broke into the top 50 for the first time since 2018.

The 35-year-old played his last match of the season in the round of 64 of the Paris Masters. He lost to Gilles Simon in three sets after bagging the first set. He is taking time off in the off-season and will look to get back into the groove when the new season gets underway.
The former world No. 1 is known for his charity work and is always on the lookout for opportunities to help people in need. This year, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was one of the major talking points and the incident adversely affected the sporting world as well. Russian and Belarusian tennis stars were banned from participating in various tournaments, including Wimbledon.
During the crisis, Murray donated £630,000 in prize money to Ukraine. He also admitted that raising money for children in the war-affected country gave him “extra motivation” during the season.
Murray’s generous deed earned him the prestigious Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award for the year 2022 in the ATP Awards.
