Stephen John Nash was the 1996, Round 1, 15th overall draft pick by the Phoenix Suns. He used to play in the position of point guard and is widely regarded as one of the best point guard of all time. In 2020, he was inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame as a player.

Steve Nash used to play for Santa Clara University, where he finished his career as Santa Clara’s all-time leader in assists (510), free throw percentage (.862), and made and attempted three-pointers (263–656). He remains third on the school’s all-time scoring list (1,689) and holds Santa Clara’s single-season free throw percentage record (.894).
In 1996, the Phoenix Suns drafted Nash but he only played only two seasons with the Suns. In 1998, Nash was traded to the Dallas Mavericks. He became one of the best point guard in the league while playing for the Mavericks and he played six seasons with them.
Nash again joined the Phoenix Suns in 2004. This time he played eight seasons for the Suns. While playing for the Suns, Nash won two NBA MVP titles; back-to-back in 2005 and 2006.
In 2012, Nash joined the Los Angeles Lakers. During this time, the Lakers had Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard. This made Nash believe the Lakers would be the right fit for him. Nash suffered several injuries and health issues during his stint with the Lakers.
Ultimately, in 2015, Nash announced his retirement from playing. He retired as a Lakers player.
In 2020, Nash was announced as the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets. In 2021, the Brooklyn Nets qualified for the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals but eventually lost to the 2021 NBA champions, the Milwaukee Bucks.
