The St Louis Cardinals are one of the oldest and most successful clubs in the history of the MLB. They ply their trade at Busch Stadium (2006).
Established in 1875 as the Brown Stockings, they were renamed to St. Louis Browns in 1881 by Chris von der Ahe who had purchased the club, back then.
11 years later, the team joined the National League (1892) and were called the Perfectos.
They got their name renamed to Cardinals only in the year 1900. 26 years later the Cardinals won their first ever World Series Title, and then went on to win it 5 more times before 1950.
The Cardinals currently have won 11 World Series Titles in the MLB, with only the New York Yankees ahead of them. Their most recent win was the 2011 World Series
Besides the World Series Titles, the Cardinals have won the East Division title thrice and the Central Division title an impressive 11 times.
The club is owned by Bill DeWitt Jr. Mike Shildt is their manager, he has been in charge since 2018.
