The midfielder has amassed 18 appearances for the England youth teams, scoring 4 times in the process. He is yet to be called up to the senior team.

Why Emile Smith Rowe would be a useful signing for Southampton

It is no secret that Southampton are in dire need of midfield reinforcements. The club have let go of three midfielders, namely Mario Lemina (Fulham), Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (Spurs) and Harrison Reed (Fulham).

This leaves them with a barebones midfield of Oriol Romeu, Stuart Armstrong, Will Smallbone and James Ward-Prowse. The Arsenal youngster would not only add to the numbers but also the quality. He is very versatile and can play as an attacking midfielder and also as a right-winger.
