Sorana Cirstea Personal life
Sorana Mihaela Cirstea was born on 7 April 1990, to Mihai and Liliana in Bucharest, Romania. Her mother Liliana introduced her to tennis when she was just four years old. There was no looking back for the future World No. 21.
Cirstea’s father owns an ice cream factory in Targoviste. She also resides in Targoviste and has a younger brother named Mihnea.

She became an ITF Junior Circuit top-ten player and reached the highest combined ranking of No. 6 in 2006. Cirstea won the 2005 German Junior Open after finishing runner-up in the previous edition.
After turning professional in 2006, she ended the year at No. 353 in the WTA rankings. Cirstea did not take too long to win her first WTA title.
