A Long-Awaited Update Packed with Improvements

No matter what version of SimRail you have, this update is free and brings a lot of improvements that make the game a lot more fun. Here are a few of the most important points:

  • Full Implementation of ETCS (European Train Control System) Levels 1 & 2: The ETCS system in SimRail is now fully functional, bringing a level of realism and complexity for players who want a tougher experience. The ETCS system is an important safety feature on real-life railroads, and SimRail’s addition lets players experience the complicated rules that govern how trains work.
  • New Missions with AI Movement and Shunting Operations: With this update, there are a bunch of new tasks that include AI-controlled train movement and shunting. This adds new tasks and situations to the game, which helps players get better at running complicated railway operations.
  • Release of the SimRail Cargo Pack DLC: The Cargo Pack is SimRail’s first DLC, and it comes with this update. The Cargo Pack, which was made with help from an outside developer, gives players the chance to drive some powerful new locomotives and complete difficult tasks that require them to haul cargo.

SimRail  Cargo Pack DLC

The Cargo Pack DLC adds a lot of new content to SimRail, especially for people who like how hard it is to run a freight train. In this new expansion, you can look forward to the following:

  • Command the Mighty ET22 Locomotive: The ET22, a powerful electric engine made to pull heavy coal trains, is the star of the SimRail Cargo Pack. You’ll have to show how good you are at driving a train on this powerful machine as you go through tricky routes with huge loads of cargo.
  • Compete with AI-Controlled Passenger Trains: With the SimRail Cargo Pack DLC, AI-controlled passenger trains can share the tracks, adding another twist to the game. Players need to keep track of when passenger trains are running and plan their goods hauling operations around those times.
  • Get on Epic Journeys: The Cargo Pack boasts a new mission that stretches for over four hours of real-time gameplay, offering a truly immersive and extended train driving experience.
  • First Vehicle with Full Starting Procedure and Engine Room: The ET22 locomotive is the first vehicle in SimRail to have a full starting process and an engine room that works. This makes the game more realistic and lets players experience all the steps needed to start up a big train.

The update adds a lot of new features that are better than the SimRail Cargo Pack DLC. These changes are good for all players, whether they buy the DLC or not. Here are some more changes that stand out:

  • Improved Multiplayer Functionality: The update fixes a number of problems with online play. For example, moderators can now give driving bots to any train, player models are now more in sync, and bot-driven trains now have 3D driver models.
  • Enhanced Train Control and Realism: Several features have been added to enhance train control and realism, such as a current brake lever indication bar and the ability to choose between continuous and step brake control in specific locomotives.
  • Visual and Audio Improvements: The update tackles various visual and audio bugs, including improved sparking effects on icy overhead lines, corrected camera inertia, and fixed horn sounds.
  • Scenario Editor and New Content: With this update, the LUA language is used to add a new scenario system that lets players make their own situations and share them with other players. Single-player gameplay is also made more interesting by adding the ability to handle other vehicles during a scenario, unlock and lock couplings, and place obstacles.
