Khan mentioned how he felt about becoming the new owner of ROH, and he has been a fan of for over a decade to this company.

“When we started AEW, it was out on the parking lot [of Daily’s Place]. A lot of you were here from the beginning, which I am grateful for,” Khan began. “It was 17 years before that another wrestling company started, a company that I’ve been a fan of for a very long time. So you can imagine why I’m excited because I just became the new owner of ROH!”

During this point, the crowd started chanting “Shane, Shane” chant to which Khan responded that “Shane’s not here, There’s no Shane, it is me.”

Shane McMahon was reportedly let go by WWE earlier this year

After a significant setback faced by this year’s Royal Rumble, Shane O’mac was let go by the company. Tony Khan was asked about Shane joining AEW anytime soon. Khan told Sports Illustrated that he would want to discuss with Shane about wrestling but didn’t hear anything from him yet.

“I’m sure he’d be an interesting person to talk to about wrestling. But, I’m not sure exactly if he would be a fit. I have not heard from him, and I don’t expect to hear from him, but in this business, you never know.”

Shane O’mac was reportedly spotted at several NHL games, and he was also spotted hanging out with the owner of the South African rugby team to discuss a partnership with WWE.
