Predicted Everton XI to face Manchester City in the Premier League

Lucas Digne’s last-minute equaliser from a free-kick salvaged a point for Everton as the Toffees were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Watford in the Premier League on Monday.

Everton currently sit 7th in the standings and the Toffees will be up against it when they make the trip to Etihad to face Manchester City on Saturday.

Manchester City got back to winning ways in the Champions League against Hoffenheim after their unbeaten run in the Premier League ended at Chelsea last week but the Citizens will be the favourites to bag all three points at home this weekend.

Team News

Idrissa Gana Gueye suffered a groin injury in the last game and is doubtful to play a part against Manchester City while James McCarthy is yet to regain match fitness following his return from a long-term injury. Apart from that Marco Silva will have the entire squad of players at his disposal for selection.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Marco Silva

Predicted XI

1. Jordan Pickford (GK)

The English international has been in good form this season and has always been a reliable presence between the sticks for the Toffees.

2. Seamus Coleman (RB)

The veteran hasn’t been at the top of his game this season and has been caught out of position numerous times at the back but Silva should bank on his experience.

3. Yerry Mina (CB)

The Colombian has added solidity to Everton’s backline and he should be amongst the starters for this one as well.

4. Michael Keane (CB)

He has kept the opposition at bay with his strength and aerial prowess, putting in multiple solid shifts at the back this season.

5. Lucas Digne (LB)

He has been an important figure down that left-hand side and will be in high spirits after netting the equaliser against Watford.

6. Morgan Schneiderlin (CDM)

The Frenchman has fallen out of favour in the Premier League this season but he might get a start if Gana Geuye doesn’t make it.

7. Andre Gomes (CDM)

The Barcelona loanee has changed the whole complexion of Everton’s midfield with some impressive displays and he will be expected to keep up his good work.

8. Bernard (LW)

The Brazilian has been a lively presence down the left and has caused problems for the opposition with his pace and guile but Everton will need better end product from him on Saturday.

9. Theo Walcott (RW)

He hasn’t been particularly influential this season and he will need to put in an improved shift on Saturday.
