Predicted Everton XI to face Burnley in the Premier League

Everton suffered a 6-2 drubbing at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday and the Toffees might have another tricky fixture in their hands when they make the trip to Turf Moor to face Burnley on Wednesday.

Marco Silva’s men were largely disappointing in their previous game and finished the week outside the top ten in the standings but they have a golden chance to turn their fortunes around against the Clarets in the mid-week clash.

Burnley were beaten 3-1 by Arsenal in their previous outing and Sean Dyche’s men are going to be up against it once again this time around.

Team News

Andre Gomes was substituted in the last game due to a knee injury and he might miss the mid-week clash while Idrissa Gana Gueye is struggling with a groin injury and his selection will be subject to a late fitness test.

Ademola Lookman is carrying a knock and is doubtful to play a part while James McCarthy remains a long-term absentee for the Toffees.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Predicted XI

1. Jordan Pickford (GK)

The Englishman had a poor game between the sticks against Spurs and he will be expected to put in an improved performance.

2. Seamus Coleman (RB)

The veteran struggled to deal with the pace and flair of the attackers in the last game and has been well below par this season but Everton don’t have too many choices.

3. Kurt Zouma (CB)

The Frenchman was caught out numerous times in the humiliating defeat and Everton will need a much better display from him.

4. Michael Keane (CB)

The Englishman wasn’t at his best against Spurs but he might find life easy against a lesser opposition on Wednesday.

He has been one of the standout performers of the season for the Toffees and should be amongst the starters for this one as well.

6. Tom Davies (CDM)

He had a poor game against Spurs and had absolutely no impact but might get another chance due to an injury crisis.

7. Morgan Schneiderlin (CDM)

The Frenchman has been on the fringes of the first-team this season but he might get a start in the absence of Gomes.

8. Richarlison (LW)

The Brazilian struggled to get into the game last week and Everton will need him to fire on all cylinders in the mid-week clash.

9. Theo Walcott (RW)

The former Arsenal man got his name on the scoresheet against Spurs and should get another start on Wednesday.

He has been the heartbeat of Everton’s attack this season and his performance was one of the few positives to take from that 6-2 defeat.

11. Dominic Calvert-Lewin (ST)

The youngster was unlucky to have his goal disallowed in the last game and he put up an inspired display as a centre-forward.
