Chelsea Opinion: 5 loanees who deserve a first-team chance next season

Chelsea have always been a club with massive ambitions right from when the reigns of the club was taken over by Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich.

Since then, the Blues have begun to challenge on fronts domestically as well as internationally, making Chelsea one of the world’s most celebrated football teams.

The Blues faithful, who usually occupy the Shed End at Stamford Bridge, have laid witness to some of the greatest players in the world pulling on the famous royal blue jersey. Over the years, some legendary footballers have come and gone at Chelsea but a few have managed to etch themselves into Chelsea legend.

While there is a massive onus on the transfer dealings conducted by the club, the number of players that are brought in at youth and academy levels are aplenty. While some of these stars are lucky enough to find a permanent place, a large number of the Blues’ young players are shipped out on loan.

Michy Batshuayi 1

The Blues currently boast a loan army of over 40 players with household names like Michy Batshuayi and Kenedy spending the season elsewhere. While there are a number of players who could easily challenge for a spot in the starting XI, only the best of the best will make it at a club as big.

Here are the 5 Chelsea loan stars who deserve a shot in the first-team next season:

Tammy Abraham

The Englishman has been on red hot form for Aston Villa right from the opening day of the season and in recent months, he has been a huge part of their late-season charge towards the promotion spots.

His figures this season read 24 goals and 2 assists from 36 Championship games and a prolific goalscorer like that is exactly what this Chelsea side seems to be lacking.

Kenedy

The young Brazilian has been within the Chelsea ranks for a long time now and has played multiple games for the Blues first-team prior to this campaign as well.

His performances in the early parts of the season for Newcastle showed positive signs. Considering that he is versatile and still have massive scope for improvement, next season could be the perfect time to draft him into the first-team.

Mason Mount

The young Englishman has spent the season on loan at Derby County under the able guidance of former Chelsea star Frank Lampard.

His displays in the middle of the park for Derby have been inspiring and he certainly does have a future at Stamford Bridge. The 20-year-old has scored 8 goals in the Championship and has even notched up 4 assists.

Tiemoue Bakayoko

The French midfielder was brought in from Monaco with massive expectations placed on his shoulders by the hopeful Chelsea fans. He failed to make an impact and was shipped out to AC Milan where he has managed to seemingly turn his career around.

The 24-year-old has really come to the fore at Sam Siro and has become an integral member of the squad and Chelsea will do well to bring him back.

Victor Moses

The Nigerian was one of the Blues most important players under Antonio Conte and he scored many crucial goals on their way to the Premier League title a few seasons ago.

Turn the clock a few years and Moses finds himself out on loan at Turkish side Fenerbahce where he has only appeared sparingly. It’s obvious that he has a lot to offer and his services would certainly be quite welcome at Chelsea.

The young American was signed by the Blues in January but was loaned out to Dortmund until the end of the season.

He is assured to return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season which means that Chelsea fans have a lot to look forward to.
