Nuufolau Joel Seanoa, Samoa Joe, is an American professional wrestler and color commentator. He is a veteran of the industry with an experience of more than 20 years. He is the current ROH World Television Champion.
He first established himself in ROH, where he grabbed the ROH World Championship for 21 months from March 2003 to December 2004. Upon joining TNA in June 2005, he was on a 19-month undefeated streak. He also held a TNA World Heavyweight Championship once, the TNA X Division Championship five times, the TNA World Tag Team Championship twice, and the TNA Television Championship once.
He also wrestled internationally and on various independent circuits, where he won several titles, including GHC Tag Team Championship and NWA titles. He left TNA in February 2015.
Joe officially debuted in WWE’s developmental territory NXT in May 2015 and signed a full-time contract with the company. He went on to become the first-ever two-time NXT Champion. After joining the main roster in 2017, he headlined several pay-per-view events and won the United States Championship. He was released from the contract in April 2021 but was soon resigned after two months. Joe again won the NXT Championship for the third time before rereleasing in January 2022.
Samoa signed with AEW and made his in-ring debut in April 2022, defeating Max Caster to qualify for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Later, he defeated Minoru Suzuki to capture his first ROH World Television Championship.
