Predicted Liverpool XI to face Leicester City: Who should start for the Reds?

Jurgen Klopp should be pleased with the way his team has done so far in the Premier League. Liverpool boast of a perfect record and currently sit at the top of the table with three wins out of three.

The Reds must challenge Manchester City for the Premier League crown this season and nearly all of Klopp’s new signings have announced themselves with impressive showings.

Mohamed Salah’s 23rd-minute strike guaranteed Liverpool all three points against a resolute Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend. Next up, the Reds face Leicester City away from home.

Center-back Dejan Lovren continues to recover from his stomach problems while Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain is expected to be out of action for the entire season with an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament.

Predicted Liverpool XI to face Leicester City

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Formation: 4-3-3

Alisson (GK)

The Brazilian commanded his penalty area strongly against Brighton and was great while handling the ball. He produced a brilliant reflex save from a header late in the game to keep Liverpool’s lead intact. Hence, he should retain his position as the No.1.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (RB)

The youngster looked defensively solid and shook the frame of the goal with a curling free-kick in the first half. Klopp should hand him another start against Leicester.

Virgil van Dijk (CB)

The towering Dutchman did not face too many threats from Brighton’s attackers but he looked good with his accurate long-balls. He is Liverpool’s best defender and there is absolutely no doubt about his selection.

Joe Gomez (CB)

In Lovren’s absence, the young Englishman has embraced his opportunity with both arms. Klopp must continue with Gomez in the starting line-up.

Andy Robertson (LB)

The former Hull City man was impressive in his previous outing against Brighton, causing a lot of problems in the opposition’s half. The Scottish international should retain his position this weekend.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM)

The Dutchman had another good day at the office against Brighton. He often dropped deep to dictate the tempo of the midfield with some elegant touches. He must once again feature in the starting XI.

James Milner (RCM)

The veteran was impressive against Brighton with his range of passing and his accurate crosses into the penalty area. The former English international should start against Leicester City.

Naby Keita (LCM)

The new signing showed a lot of energy in the midfield, often winning position and carrying the ball forward. His presence in the middle of the park is important for Liverpool and Klopp should hand him another start.

Mohamed Salah (RW)

The Egyptian wizard has continued from where he left off in the previous season, already registering two goals in the current campaign. He is Liverpool’s talisman and an automatic selection for Jurgen Klopp.

Sadio Mane (LW)

The Senegalese forward had an average game against Brighton, failing to convert a few half-chances. However, Klopp should continue with him.

Roberto Firmino (CF)

The Brazilian is the only one of Liverpool’s attacking trio who is yet to score a goal this season. However, he looked promising with his movement in the attacking third against Brighton, forcing a brilliant reflex save from Matt Ryan. Hence, he should start ahead of Daniel Sturridge.
