Reigns recently signed a new contract which will see him perform in far lesser live events than before. However, Reigns has also missed a few episodes of SmackDown and as mentioned earlier, the Hell in a Cell event. The Head of the Table was a last-minute addition to the WrestleMania Backlash card where he competed in a six-man tag team match alongside The Usos and defeated the team of RK-Bro and Drew McIntyre.

His last match in WWE was in a live event at Cedar Rapids where he faced Drew McIntyre. He has been advertised for the Clash at the Castle event and is likely to defend his title against the Scottish Warrior.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Roman Reigns is likely to put his title on the line in a match against Randy Orton at the SummerSlam 2022 event. Randy Orton has been written off WWE television since losing the RAW Tag Team Championship on the May 20 episode of SmackDown.

The Viper is a 14-time World Champion and him facing Reigns will certainly be a match that wrestling fans will not want to miss.

Will Riddle get a shot at the WWE Universal Championship?

Riddle has been teasing the idea of him facing Roman Reigns in the future. Dave Meltzer feels that the former United States Champion might get the chance on TV and not on pay-per-view.

Meltzer said: “July 30th. He may actually wrestle on TV before that, but July 30th is his first pay-per-view championship match. He may do a television match before then. If he wrestles Riddle, it’ll be on TV. It won’t be on pay-per-view. At least that’s the plan right now. The plan is still Orton for July 30th.

Let’s hope we get both the matches as they have the potential to be spectacular, irrespective of being on pay-per-view or on TV.
