It’s not unknown that everything is on hold right now due to the coronavirus, including tennis. Since there are no more tennis events taking place, especially with fans, it’s not even possible to use live tennis odds to your advantage right now. Will things get back to normal anytime soon?

Well, Roger Federer had something to say about this. According to him, it’s highly unlikely for the tennis circuit to come back now during the pandemic. However, he mentioned that as soon as things are going to change and matches will be possible, he’ll find it hard to play without fans.

According to tennis authorities, all action is going to be suspended through July, even if La Liga from Spain and the European football’s Bundesliga are restarting their activity.

Federer Talks about His Knee Surgery Recovery

Although in March, everything was put on hold, Federer already had to be on the sidelines because of his knee surgery. He was recovering from it still when the hiatus began. The French Open should have started on Sunday, but considering the current circumstances, it was rescheduled for later, in September. Conversely, Wimbledon was called off too, despite being supposed to take place in July.

Federer started talking about his recovery and he also talked about how he doesn’t have any reason to train at the moment. In a video interview reported by Tennis.com, Federer told Gustavo Kuerten, a three-time French Open champion, that there is no reason to train right now.

“I’m not training at the moment because I don’t see a reason for that to be honest,” he said. “I am happy with my body now and I still believe that the return of the tour is a long way off, and I think it’s important mentally to enjoy this break, having played so much tennis. When I’m getting towards returning and have a goal to train for, I think I will be super motivated.”

Competing Without Spectators – Federer’s Thoughts

People may be able to do some live tennis betting later this year, but while they will be able to check live tennis odds from their homes, the events may take place without spectators. Federer shared his thoughts about this.

“Most of the time when we are training, there is no one,” he said. “For us, of course, it is possible to play if there are no fans. But on the other hand, I really hope that the circuit can return as it normally is. And hold off till the time is appropriate, minimum a third of the stadium or half full. But, for me, completely empty when playing big tournaments is very difficult.”

Final Thoughts

It’s hard to say when things will go back to normal and when you can check WTA oddsjust like before. There will likely be events taking place later this year, but large crowds will not be allowed anymore. Even if it will be difficult for players like Federer and many others, it’s a measure that needs to be taken for safety.
