Earlier on Tuesday, Red Bull confirmed that their Monaco GP winner Sergio Perez will stay with the team until 2024.
Only a few days after winning the Monaco Grand Prix, Sergio Perez has landed himself a contract extension with Red Bull until 2024. The Mexican driver has now been confirmed on a new two-year deal with Red Bull Racing after he joined the Milton Keyes-based team in 2021.

Perez had actually hinted that he had signed a contract extension on Sunday itself. After the 3rd F1 race win of his career, the veteran was caught on camera joking that he had “probably signed too early” with team boss Christian Horner chuckling at that.

Nevertheless, after Red Bull confirmed the news on Tuesday, several fans on social media were quick to react to the statement. Perez joined Red Bull last season and finished fourth in the driver standings, which was the highest he ever finished in a season. The 33-year-old won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, scored four podiums, and played an integral role for his teammate Max Verstappen, who won the Drivers’ championship last year.
Fans react as Sergio Perez signs new deal with Red Bull
On Twitter, one wrote, “Vamos Checo. So happy for you. You deserve this new contract” while another added, “Sergio Perez signs a new deal until 2024 with Red Bull. A third commented, “Just days after his third win in Formula 1, Checo gets a contract extension. Superb stuff from the best Mexican driver ever”. This is great news for the team and the driver as well. Here are some more reactions to the news:

There’s currently only 2 F1 drivers to have won a race in the last 3 seasons (2020-2022)… Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen!! They’re now both tied down to Red Bull until at least the end of 2024!

Congrats to Perez on the new contract but yes, it is now clear Perez should have signed after Monaco as that would have bagged him a multi year contract at least, that is, Jos willing of course

I hate Redbull, but seeing Checo Perez get the respect he deserves of a seat with a top team for 2024 just makes me so HAPPY 🥹 Long time coming but he really is a GREAT driver!!!

Great signing this for @redbullracing . A team player with the potential to be a Champion. @SChecoPerez is both in one https://t.co/0VpWXWZKuy
Sergio Perez staying with Red Bull for a further two years. Makes a lot of sense, and gives some certainty to the team in terms of drivers that it hasn’t had since Daniel Ricciardo left #F1

Thank you for all the trust and for making me part of this family for two more years! Vamooos!

¡Gracias por toda la confianza y por hacerme parte de esta familia hasta 2024! ¡Vamooos! @redbullracing pic.twitter.com/DCNpUt3WMg
Looked as though he’d mouthed “I signed too early” to Horner in Monaco after his mega win. Richly deserved. The man Red Bull have been searching for. Delighted for him.

What now though for Gasly? If any top team has an opening he’s got to be top of the list, right? https://t.co/rl3q8gWmgr
