Predicted Everton XI to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League

Everton suffered a 3-1 hammering at the hands of Manchester City last week in the Premier League and the Toffees will be up against it once again when they play host to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Marco Silva’s men have managed to accumulate just 2 points from their last 4 games in the Premier League and the Merseysiders will be desperate to turn their fortunes around.

Spurs will be high on confidence after beating Arsenal 2-0 on Wednesday night to progress to the semifinals of the Carabao Cup and the Lilywhites will be the favourites to continue their impressive run.

Team News

Idrissa Gana Gueye is yet to recover completely from his groin injury and is doubtful to play a part on Sunday while James McCarthy will be pushing for a return from his long-term injury.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Marco Silva

Predicted XI

1. Jordan Pickford (GK)

He wasn’t at fault for any of the goals last week and has always been a reliable presence between the sticks.

2. Seamus Coleman (RB)

The Irishman struggled to deal with the pace of Leroy Sane last week and will once again have his work cut out against a potent attacking unit.

3. Yerry Mina (CB)

The Colombian was outfoxed by City’s positional play in the last game and he will need to put in a better shift this time around.

4. Kurt Zouma (CB)

The Chelsea loanee put up an impressive showing against City last week and he will be expected to continue his good work.

5. Lucas Digne (LB)

The Frenchman has been a lively presence down the left and has contributed equally to both defence and attack.

6. Andre Gomes (CDM)

He has really changed the entire complexion of Everton’s midfield with his passing and distribution and has also contributed to the attack with driving runs forward.

7. Tom Davies (CDM)

He came on as a substitute last week but Silva might hand him a start in he chooses to return to his preferred 4-2-3-1.

8. Bernard (LW)

He has added energy and impetus to Everton’s attack this season and should be amongst the starters for this one as well.

9. Ademola Lookman (RW)

The youngster played a promising cameo off the bench against City last week and Silva should hand him a start ahead of Walcott who has misfired all season.

Everton's Lucas Digne scored his first goal for the club in the Premier League draw with Watford.

10. Gylfi Sigurdsson (CAM)

He wasn’t at his best last week but he has been a key component of Everton’s attack.

11. Richarlison (ST)

The Brazilian looked very wayward with his shooting in the last game and he will need to deliver the goods if the Toffees are to come away with a positive result on Sunday.
