The Northern Irish international was loaned from Southampton in January and now he will stay at Ibrox for another year.

Following the deal, he said

“I am obviously delighted my future has been sorted out”.

it was a case of myself and the club getting the initial period out of the way and seeing how everything went as my family is still down south. That has been different, but I am delighted to now get everything signed and sealed.”

Davis progressed through the youth ranks of Aston Villa and soon attained his place in the main team.

He holds a vast amount of experience with the English clubs Fulham and the Saints.

In fact, he earlier played for the Light Blues for around four years, winning several accolades.

Davis was part of the Ibrox side that ended runners-up in UEFA super cup in 2008. He has achieved eight titles with the Gers.

The Gers manager, Steven Gerrard, also said that Davis has returned to the fold over the past month.

Rangers are now best priced at 1/5 to get the best out of Steven Davis thanks to Steven Gerrard’s intelligent man-management, though punters listed on Amazing Bet can see these odds increase should they place the bet through.

Steven Gerrard said to the dailymail:

He is looking sharp that’s why we wanted to bring him back

“He is winning the ball back, intercepting balls and looking aggressive”.

“That is why we brought him back in January and why we want him as part of this squad going forward.”

The Light Blues’ recent signings Jordan Jones and Jake Hastie are due to arrive for the pre-season set-up.

The former Liverpool manager wants to reinforce his side for a productive next season.
