Predicted 4-2-3-1 Leicester City XI to face Brighton in the Premier League

Leicester City should be disappointed after playing out a rather stale goalless draw against Burnley before the international break and the Foxes will be looking to get back to winning ways when they make the trip to the Falmer Stadium to face Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Claude Puel’s men currently sit 10th in the Premier League standings with 17 points from 12 games and they should look to go all out for a win in this week’s away fixture to climb higher up the table.

Brighton were not at their best in the 2-1 defeat at the hands of Cardiff City in their previous outing and the Seagulls will be hoping to salvage at least a point from this game.

Team News

Claude Puel has plenty of injuries to contend with for Saturday’s clash. James Maddison and Harry Maguire are yet to recover from their knee injuries and are ruled out for the weekend.

Daniel Amartey had a surgery on his ankle and is likely to be back in action next year.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Claude Puel

Predicted XI

1. Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

The Dane has been in good form between the sticks this season and should retain his position for this one.

2. Danny Simpson (RB)

Ricardo Pereira had a decent outing against a rather subdued Burnley attack but question marks still lie over his defensive game. Puel should hand a start to the veteran at the right-back position.

3. Jonny Evans (CB)

The Englishman did a good job in the heart of the defence in the last game and should continue to enjoy first-team action in the absence of Maguire.

4. Wes Morgan (CB)

The veteran dominated the opposition with his physicality and aerial ability in the last game and is likely to start on Saturday ahead of Caglar Soyuncu.

5. Ben Chilwell (LB)

The youngster has been one of the standout performers for the Foxes this season and he should continue with his good work.

6. Nampalys Mendy (CDM)

The Frenchman had a decent game last time around but he must improve a bit on his discipline.

7. Wilfried Ndidi (CDM)

He completely dominated Burnley in the midfield with his tireless running and physicality and he should aim to put in another good display on Saturday.

8. Demarai Gray (LW)

He has always been a lively presence for the Foxes this season, causing plenty of problems for the opposition with his pace, flair and athleticism.

9. Ricardo Pereira (RW)

The Portuguese international has struggled at the back but he has shown plenty of promise in the attacking third and Puel should hand him a start ahead of Marc Albrighton who was disappointing in the last game.

10. Rachid Ghezzal (CAM)

He filled in the void left by the injury to Maddison quite well and Puel should continue to use him in a No.10 role.

11. Jamie Vardy (ST)

He is Leicester’s indispensable weapon in the final third and he will need to rise to the occasion if the Foxes are to claim three points.
