Why Aaron Wan-Bissaka make an impact at Manchester City under Guardiola

The Sun has reported that Manchester City are set to make a stunning £80million bid for Leicester City star Ben Chilwell and Crystal Palace youngster Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with the latter valued at around £30m.

While the Leicester City left-back has been at the top of many shortlists, it’s Wan-Bissaka that Manchester City needs more, given Danilo’s performances of late. Danilo has struggled since his big-money move to the Etihad Stadium and his time could be over in summer.

The 21-year-old Crystal Palace right-back, on the other hand, is having an excellent season under Roy Hodgson, playing at his very best. Easily, among the Eagles’ best players, Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s performances of late have seen him attract a lot of attention from Premier League, with Chelsea and even Manchester United interested in his services.

Things will get interesting once the summer window opens, but at the moment, it’s up to the England youth international to keep things get going.

Pressure hasn’t affected the young Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with him playing his first three Premier League games against Tottenham, Manchester United and Chelsea before fighting Liverpool in his fifth game last season. While the Eagles did end up losing all four games, the difference between the sides was never more than one goal. However, what did end up shocking a few fans was how comfortable Aaron Wan-Bissaka looked.

The 21-year-old never looked out of place in any game, which is exactly why he’s been a consistent fixture this season in Hodgson’s team. Unlike half of Crystal Palace’s other players, Wan-Bissaka has only missed one Premier League fixture this season and that was down to a suspension. For Manchester City, everything so far reads as good news, not only should the youngster fit perfectly into their line-up but at the same time, the pressure will clearly not get to him.

Guardiola will look to curb the 21-year old’s aggression, improve his crossing and attacking nuance, otherwise, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is close to perfect. The youngster is destined for a big move, but the question does arise as to where and which club will win the race. Because whoever does, will be getting arguably one of the best youngsters outside the Premier League’s top six sides before he does make a move to a top six side.

Arsenal, Liverpool or Tottenham cannot look at the Crystal Palace starlet, as all three sides have established right-backs. Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City will and should battle for the 21-year-old, which will make next summer’s transfer window spicy.
