Predicted Man City XI to face Leicester City in the Premier League

Man City overcame a dogged and adamant Burnley side 1-0 in the Premier League last week to leapfrog Liverpool and reclaim top spot in the standings, thanks to a Sergio Aguero’s million-dollar winner.

The Citizens cannot afford to breathe easy though, with Pep Guardiola’s side set to face an in-form Leicester City unit at home on Monday night, knowing that a slip-up at this point of time would deal a massive blow to their hopes of retaining the Premier League title.

Leicester City, on the other hand, have enjoyed a wonderful run in the Premier League since the arrival of Brendan Rodgers and the Foxes will be in high spirits after demolishing Arsenal 3-0 at home last week.

The Foxes are one of the four teams to have beaten Man City in the Premier League this season, having won the reverse fixture 2-1 earlier in the season, though the Citizens are still the favourites heading into the clash.

Team News

Pep Guardiola is going to be without the services of Fernandinho, who is ruled out with a knee injury. Kevin de Bruyne is also unavailable due to a hamstring problem, while back-up goalkeeper Claudio Bravo is a long-term absentee for the Citizens.

Formation: 4-3-3

Predicted XI

1. Ederson Moraes (GK)

The flamboyant and eccentric Brazilian had little to do in the 1-0 victory over Burnley and he has been a reliable presence between the sticks all season.

2. Kyle Walker (RB)

The Englishman put up a wonderful display last week against Burnley, ripping the opposition apart with his powerful runs forward, and he is likely to be a sure starter on Monday.

3. Aymeric Laporte (CB)

The Frenchman has been one of the standout performers for City at the heart of the defence and has played a key role in their surge for the league title.

4. Vincent Kompany (CB)

The Belgian veteran has enjoyed a consistent run in the starting eleven over the Easter Period and he is likely to start once again ahead of Stones and Otamendi.

5. Oleksandr Zinchenko (LB)

The Ukrainian has caught the eye with his wonderful passing and constant running up and down the pitch, establishing himself as a regular starter in the absence of Benjamin Mendy.

6. Ilkay Gundogan (CDM)

He is probably the only one in City’s ranks who has the calmness, composure and the range of passing to fill in Fernandinho’s boots and he has really done well in that role.

7. Bernardo Silva (RAM)

His electric presence in the midfield has been a key factor for Man City this term and there is no one as good as him when it comes to being a complete package.

8. David Silva (LAM)

The Spanish veteran has lost none of his vision and guile and City will need him to spark that creativity once again in a must-win game on Monday.

9. Leroy Sane (LW)

Man City always look more potent in the attacking third with the jet-heeled German in their starting eleven and they will probably need him to come up with the goods against Leicester.

10. Raheem Sterling (RW)

The former Liverpool man has been another key cog in Man City’s engine and he will be expected to rise to the occasion on Monday.
