Season 2 of Yoo Yeon Seok’s Dr Romantic was super-hit. Now, will there be a season 3 of Dr Romantic?
It seems like the popular medical drama Dr Romantic will be returning for its third season. On September 15 a source from SBS that the drama has been confirmed for its production for a third season.
Along with scriptwriters Kang Eun Kyung and Lim Hye Min and director Yoo In Suk, lead actor Han Suk Kyu, who plays the titular role, as well as Ahn Hyo Seop and Lee Sung Kyung from Season 2 will be joining the upcoming season.
The first season starred Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin alongside Dr Kim Sabu aka Han Suk Kyu while season 2 saw a change of the main roles. The show returned in 2020 after the first season came in 2016. Since then it has been watched by viewers and got some high ratings as well.
The production team said, “‘Dr. Romantic’ received great love from viewers every season. Although two years have passed, the production team and actors will do their best to prepare for the return of the many people who still remember and are waiting for ‘Dr. Romantic’.”

‘Big Mouth’ star Kim Joo Hun confirmed to rejoin Dr Romantic season 3
MBC has confirmed that Kim Joo Hun will be reprising his role as Park Min Guk in ‘Dr. Romantic 3’. Dr Romantic is a drama depicting the story of a ‘real doctor’ that takes place in the background of a shabby local Doldam Hospital.
In Season 2, Kim Joo Hun took on the role of Park Min Guk, the new director of Doldam Hospital, confronting Kim Sa Bu (Han Seok Gyu), creating dramatic tension.
The star is currently playing the role of Gudgeon Mayor Choi Do Ha in the MBC Friday-Saturday drama ‘Big Mouth’, which is enjoying great popularity with the highest viewership rating of 12% (Nielsen Korea, nationwide), and is performing with Lee Jong Seok, I’m YoonA, and Ok Ja Yeon.
Dr Romantic season 3 is scheduled to be filmed with the goal of broadcasting in the first half of 2023.
