Predicted Manchester United line-up to face Arsenal in the Premier League

Manchester United travel to the Emirates to face Arsenal with the chance to go four points clear of the north London outfit on Sunday.

The Red Devils will take on their top-four rivals on a high from their midweek heroics in the Champions League. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side completed a remarkable turnaround in Paris by beating Paris Saint-Germain 3-1 to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are fifth in the table and just a point adrift of fourth-place Manchester United.

Team News

Eric Bailly limped out of the United’s game against PSG and his injury couldn’t come at a more unfortunate time for Solskjaer.

The Norwegian boss is without ten first-team players at this moment in time, though Anthony Martial could return for the game against Arsenal.

Probable Manchester United XI

Formation: 4-1-2-1-2

Manager: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

David de Gea (GK)

De Gea will face a stellar test at the weekend and has to be at his best to keep his team alive.

Ashley Young (RB)

Young had a very poor outing against PSG in midweek. He’ll need to step up and put in a skipper’s performance at the Emirates.

Chris Smalling (CB)

The centre-back duo of Smalling and Lindelof did an excellent job against PSG and expect them to start on Sunday.

Victor Lindelof (CB)

He has been in top form ever since the arrival of Solskjaer. The Swede has brought stability to the backline and he is expected to keep his place in the team.

Luke Shaw (LB)

Shaw has made the left-back position his own and he is certain to start at the weekend.

Scott McTominay (CDM)

Since replacing the injured Matic, McTominay has passed all the tests with flying colours. The game at Arsenal will be a different test for the youngster as well.

Andreas Pereira (RCM)

Pereira has had two successive good games which will give him a lot of confidence against the Gunners.

Fred (LCM)

Produced a really composed display against PSG in midweek. That should be enough to convince Solskjaer to hand Fred another start.

Paul Pogba (CAM)

Pogba has looked a different player altogether under Solskjaer. The Frenchman is an undoubted starter against Unai Emery’s team.

Marcus Rashford (RS)
