Predicted 4-2-3-1 Tottenham Hotspur XI to Arsenal in the Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur produced arguably their best performance of the season so far to beat Chelsea 3-1 at home in the Premier Lague last week.

The Lilywhites followed it up with another impressive 1-0 victory over Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Arsenal stretched their unbeaten run to 18 games across all competitions with a comfortable 3-0 win over Vorskla in the Europa League.

Spurs are currently placed 3rd in the Premier League standings, just a couple of points ahead of Arsenal who are 5th and Mauricio Pochettino’s men will be looking to stamp their authority over their bitter rivals when they make the trip to the Emirates for the north London derby on Sunday.

With both the teams in great goalscoring form this season, the fans can expect a mouth-watering edge-of-the-seat thriller on Sunday.

Team News

Kieran Trippier is going through the final stages of his rehabilitation following a groin injury and he is doubtful to feature on Sunday while Erik Lamela is also being assessed ahead of the north London derby due to a thigh injury.

Victor Wanyama, Vincent Janssen, Mousa Dembele and Davinson Sanchez are all ruled out for this clash due to various injuries.

Predicted XI

1. Hugo Lloris (GK)

The Frenchman made some fine saves in the Champions League tie and has always been a reliable presence between the sticks.

2. Serge Aurier (RB)

The Ivorian did a fine job against Chelsea and Inter Milan both in terms of attack and defence and Pochettino should continue to rely on him if Trippier doesn’t make it to the line-up.

3. Toby Alderweireld (CB)

The Belgian has put in some solid shifts at the back in recent weeks and he will have his work cut out against Lacazette on Sunday.

4. Jan Vertonghen (CB)

He looked solid on his return from injury in the Champions League game and should start against Arsenal on Sunday.

5. Ben Davies (LB)

He has done a good job defensively but has been rather wasteful in the attacking third and Spurs will need him to improve on that.

6. Moussa Sissoko (CDM)

The Frenchman dictated terms in the midfield with his passing, tenacity and strength in the last couple of games and he will have his work cut out against Lucas Torreira.

7. Eric Dier (CDM)

His strength and passing in midfield might play a key role for Spurs on Sunday.

8. Dele Alli (RW)

It has been raining goals and assists for the young Englishman for the last couple of weeks and he will once again hold the key to Spurs’ success on Sunday.

9. Heung-Min Son (LW)

The Korean lit up Wembley with a wonderful solo goal against Chelsea last week and he will need to come up with something similar.
