After receiving offers from USC, Oregon, and Memphis, Brissett chose Syracuse. He was immediately inserted into the Orange starting lineup, providing an interior presence alongside guards Tyus Battle and Frank Howard.
Following the season, he declared his NBA Draft eligibility and gave up his remaining two years of collegiate eligibility. Brissett was not drafted.

Brissett signed with the NBA’s Toronto Raptors on July 23, 2019. Brissett’s contract was converted to a two-way agreement on October 21. He will split his time between the Raptors and their NBA G League affiliate, the Raptors 905. He made his NBA debut against the Miami Heat on November 19.

Brissett was selected 21st overall by the Fort Wayne Mad Ants in the first 2021 NBA G League draft, and he was later named to the single-site season roster announced on January 11, 2021.
Brissett signed a 10-day contract with the NBA’s Indiana Pacers on April 1, 2021.
