Nintendo is preparing for a big holiday season with some new and exciting announcements. Here are the 5 biggest reveals from the Nintendo Direct September event.

The Nintendo Direct September event was filled with some exciting announcements for the Nintendo Switch. These events happen only a few times a year, and some of them feature more fascinating lineups than others.

We’ve seen Pokémon Legends Arceus and other important games revealed via live streams before, and this time was no exception. Over the course of the 45-minute presentation, there was a lot to take in, so let’s go over everything said during the latest Nintendo Direct.

Bayonetta 3

It’s been a long time since we’ve had any real updates on the status of Bayonetta 3. With a nearly four-minute-long trailer packed with action, we got a good look at the much awaited game. The bad news is that the game will not be released until 2022.

N64 and Sega Genesis games on Switch Online

Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis games, as expected, will be added to the Switch Online subscription service. The service is included as part of an “expansion pack,” which sounds like a premium tier for the service. Nintendo has not announced pricing but promises that more information will be released soon.

Kirby and The Forgotten Land

A new Kirby adventure is on its way to the Nintendo Switch. The game, set in an abandoned civilization, will have players exploring an open environment with Kirby’s usual arsenal of powers. The game’s big mystery revolves around Kirby exploring the ruins of the civilization and piecing together the puzzle of what happened to the people who lived there. Kirby and the Forgotten Land will be released in Spring 2022.

Shadowrun and Castlevania rerelease

Several classic Nintendo series are being re-released for the Switch. The Shadowrun Trilogy and four Castlevania games, to be specific. Shadowrun Games by Paradox Interactive successfully combined tactical gameplay with a cyberpunk setting. Overall, the games are regarded as the forefathers of the Cyberpunk setting in gaming. The games will include new features like rewinding, quicksave, and button mapping, as well as a gallery of previously unseen artwork.

You can get Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun Dragonfall: Director’s Cut, and Shadowrun Hong Kong: Extended Edition sometime in 2022. Classic Castlevania titles Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow, and Dracula X are all available from September 23.

It will be released in the United States on December 21, 2022, with international dates to be determined. The movie will have a star-studded cast including Chris Pratt, Charlie Day, Anya-Taylor Joy, Seth Rogen and Jack Black.
