Tampa Bay Buccaneers marquee WR – Mike Evans will not be contesting in the Week 3 action against the Green Bay Packers after he was handed a one-game suspension by the league for instigating a fight against the New Orleans Saint previously.

When Tom Brady was being dragged into the mud by Saint corner Marshon Lattimore, Mike Evans could not tolerate it and decided to shove the latter in his back, making his fall on the floor. After which both players decided to shove one another. As a result of which, both these spoken off players were ejected from the same game.

Interestingly, this wasn’t the first time Mike Evans and Marshon Lattimore had got physical on the field. In 2017, Evans was suspended for one game, for running onto the field only to shove Lattimore in the back. But the league does not consider to be lenient especially towards repeated offenders.

Mike Evans to miss Week 3 action for Tamp Bay Buccaneers

Mike Evans is the team’s leading receiver with eight receptions totaling 132 yards through the first two games. The Green Bay Packers could have the luxury of facing a depleted Tamp Bay offensive line – with Chris Godwin and Julio Jones also being most likely to not participate. Moreover, a veteran WR in the form of Cle Beasley would be representing the Tampa Bay Bucs for the first time.

As far as Evans is concerned, his absence is sure to haunt the 2020 Super Bowl Champs, as Brady will look to find new targets on the field in this matchup. On the other hand, the Packers are not in the best shape and structure as well. The reigning MVP is also a part of the rebuilding phase of the team.

That being said, Tampa Bay stands as only one of the six teams who have not experienced a loss in the 2022-23 NFL Season. Yet with Mike Evans out of action, Packers would be favoring their chances to hand them their first loss of the season? What drama awaits, remains to be seen as the action unfolds this Sunday.
