Will Dak Prescott play against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2?

published

As shocking as it might sound, but Dak Prescott’s Dallas Cowboys were the only team in Week 1 who failed to score a TouchDown. While Tom Brady’s men never gave the opposition a chance to fight back, Cowboys found themselves in a deeper hole when marquee Quarterback – Prescott had to make his way into the locker room due to a thumb injury.

To make matters worse, this wasn’t a soft bruise as test revealed that Dak Prescott would be requiring a surgery and will eventually miss 6 to 8 weeks of footballing action. With that news, the Cowboys would be needing to battle against the Cincinnati Bengals without their star player. Prescott will be replaced by Cooper Rush as the starting Quarterback with the aim of gaining around on its NFC East competitors, starting Sunday against Bengals.

Given that the Dallas Cowboys will be without Dak Prescott and up against the league’s most dynamic offense, their defense needs to produce their very best to cause this upset, if they are hoping to hold onto their title.

Will Cincinnati Bengals thump Dallas Cowboys without Dak Prescott?

Where there are major expectations from a team to register a brutal win, that is exactly where the chance of causing an upset exists. The same should be known to Dak Prescott-less Cowboys, who would be tested against the likes of Joe Burrow, receivers – Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and running back – Joe Mixon. However, even the Bengals went onto show their vulnerabilities in their season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Moreover, Cowboys are entering this game as 7.5-point underdogs to the Bengals. Yet one should be aware that Dalton Schultz led all the league tight ends in Week 1 with seven receptions against zone coverage for 62 yards. Furthermore, with two sacks against Bucs, Micah Parsons is one of the only five players in NFL history to register a total of 15 sacks in his first 17 games as a pro.

Will we finally witness Cowboys being considered a serious team without Dak Prescott? Or is Bengals going to destroy their opponents in Week 2? Remains to be seen.
