Brock Purdy has emerged as just the star San Francisco 49ers’ fanbase wanted. After both of their premium Quarterback options being sidelined due to respective injuries, Irrelevant has decided to take center stage. In the process, he even became the first ever QB to defeat Tom Brady in his first ever professional NFL start.

Now as his team is all set to lock horns against the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football, there were concerns about the 22-year-old being able to start for his team. The rookie out of Iowa State is set to play through oblique and rib injuries, starting for Niners is Seattle in Week 15 on Thursday.

As per coach Kyle Shanahan, Brock Purdy should be able to play against the Seattle Seahawks without risking a more serious injury. However, being out of option, Brock’s passing and mobility could be affected by the increasing pain. One needs to note that even in the practice session, Purdy was limited.

Can Brock Purdy lead Niners to victory in Week 15?

“That’s one of the reasons we brought him here, just because Josh is really good at picking things up,” Shanahan said. “It’s Thursday so no one is getting full speed reps, so that’s always a challenge when you get in there, but that was a situation for the quarterback last week (against the Miami Dolphins) too.

“Your oblique is a big muscle that goes across everything. When you throw it’s your whole core, so I feel like it’s not good either way.”

Brock Purdy has thrown two TouchDown passes in each of the San Francisco 49ers’ last two games, throwing for 395 yards in the process. He’ll go up against a Seattle Seahawks defense on Thursday that’s allowed less than 1.5 passing TDs per game.
