It is sincerely hard to imagine the modern-day Dallas Cowboys without Dak Prescott. However, when he left the team in the season opening loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, many had ruled out the Cowboys from being able to contest in the playoff spots also, in this season.

The situation drastically changed when backup QB – Cooper Rush took over in Dak Prescott’s absence. Having led the team to four consecutive victories, the latest of which came against defending champions – Los Angeles Rams, it looks like Dak could be facing some stuff competition to earn his place back.

However, general manager Jerry Jones came forward to clear all doubts, stating that Dak Prescott is the ‘main guy’ for Cowboys and there is no doubt that he would have his place in the starting line-up once he returns 100% healthy.

When will Dak Prescott return?

For those who still are optimistic about Dak Prescott returning in Week 6…the answer is NO! As per HC Mike McCarthy, Prescott has only return on the field of practice, wherein he is getting his arms warm by throwing. Given that Prescott was already set to miss for 4-6 weeks, McCarthy emphasized that Cooper Rush would be starting the Cowboys’ latest game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

McCarthy stated as per deseret, “He’s (Dak Prescott) just not ready, and the fact that Cooper Rush has played will is awesome. The Cowboys have done a fantastic job of developing a Quarterback talent that, let’s be real, not a lot of people believed in. But Dak Prescott not being able to practice on Wednesday means he is not gonna play on Sunday. Whether everyone wants to ramp it up or not, regardless of how Cooper Rush is playing.”

Will Rush be able to secure another win and keep his undefeated record alive after Week 6? As things stand, it does look like Prescott is surely going to return to game action from Week 7 when his team locks horns against Detroit Lions.
