While tackling is part of the sport, some have a knack for brutality. The force of a tackle can vary but some of these players have been consistent with their hard-hitting for quite a while now. From linebackers to defensive linesmen, here’s a look at some of the hardest hitters in the NFL currently.

Top 10 Hardest Hitters in the NFL

Justin James Watt – One of the most athletically gifted players in the NFL. The 32-year-old DE loves to chase down his opponents. At 6’5” and 289 pounds,

Watt often defies physics with his slick movement and agility. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year will be eager to prove his worth to the Arizona Cardinals once again next term after his move to NFC West franchise last year.

Von Miller – The two-time Super Bowl champion certainly packs a punch. At 6’3” and 245 pounds, Miller is built well to take down almost anyone or anything that comes his way.

The Super Bowl 50 MVP showed that once again this year as he won the Super Bowl with the LA Rams in his first year with the team. Although he is still only 32, the OL still has a lot left in his tank to deliver at the top level.

Khalil Mack – The fifth overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft is about as tough as they come. After spending three years with the Oakland Raiders and winning the Defensive Player of the Year in 2016, Mack joined the Chicago Bears.

He signed a six-year, $141 million extension with the Bears in 2017, making him the highest-paid defensive player in the league at the time.

Jason Pierre-Paul – Despite a gruesome hand injury in 2015, there is no stopping Jason Pierre-Paul. The 33-year-old OL is considered a demolition man in the NFL.

At 6’5” and 292 pounds, the two-time Super Bowl winner is only keen to add more honours to his already-impressive CV.

Cameron Jordan – After being drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the first round of the 2011
NFL Draft, Cameron Jordan has grown from strength to strength.

At 6’4” and 287 pounds the DE is nothing short of a massive unit. He is also a seven-time Pro Bowler but will be looking to add a Super Bowl ring to his collection in the near future.

Landon Collins – It’s hard to find anyone who loves tackling opponents more than Landon Collins. The SS shot to fame during his time with the Giants, making himself a three-time Pro Bowler.

While he has had a rather tough time since his move to Washington in 2018, he will be itching to get back to his hardcore best soon.

Jason Verrett – Flamboyant, quick, aggressive and strong. The few traits you need in a cornerback. Jason Verrett possesses all those abilities. Despite being only 5’10” and 188 pounds, the 30-year-old isn’t afraid of flying into tackles.

The 49ers star’s cat-like reflexes and hounding of opponents certainly puts him among one of the toughest hitters in the league.

Aaron Donald – If the sight of Aaron Donald charging towards you doesn’t scare you, I don’t know what else might. The LA Rams DT is an eight-time Pro Bowler, three-time Defensive Player of the Year and recently added the Super Bowl as well to his glowing resume.

However, it’s quite apparent judging by Donald’s physique and hunger that he wants more glory days in the NFL.

Grady Jarrett – The Atlanta Falcons DE is one of the most feared players in the NFL. At 6’1” and 305 pounds, the two-time Pro Bowler can seriously do damage to his opponents.

He is still only 28 and bound to taste some more success before he eventually calls it quits.

Darius Leonard – At 6’2” and 230 pounds, Darius Leonard is one of the best OL in the NFL. While just 26, he has already put himself in the running for one of the best OL to play for the Indianapolis Colts. The 2018 Defensive Rookie of the Year is now eyeing the big prizes and surely has the toughness and grit to earn himself a Super Bowl ring.
