Matt Rhule has finally been summoned by the Carolina Panthers and the top tier management after he registered an embarrassing tally of 1-4 in the 2022-23 season. Since taking up the job, with an expectation to change the face of the franchise, Rhule has only managed to secure 11 wins in 38 games.

Which pretty much summarizes the kind of tenure Matt Rhule has had with the Carolina Panthers, and on Monday this relation came to an end, for good. The 47-year-old in 2020 after serving as the coach for Baylor where he achieved impeccable results from 2017 to 2019.

To those who are not aware Matt Rhule guided Baylor to a 11-3 record and even appearance in the Big 12 Championship and Super Bowl in his final season as the helm of the program. Which initially dragged Panthers’ attention towards him in the first place. This made sure that Rhule turned around two college programs all by himself – Baylor and Temple.

How much does the Carolina Panthers owe Matt Rhule?

According to a source, as published the Athletic – Carolina Panthers owe Matt Rhule more than $40 Million from his seven-year long contract. This contract was registered at an eventual sum of $62 Million. However, the twist in the plot is – the Carolina Panthers would recoup most if not all of that money if Matt Rhule takes another job. That could be a possibility much sooner than many expect as his name has been mentioned in connections with Nebraska and Wisconsin openings previously.

After firing Matt Rhule, defensive coordinator Steve Wilks has been named as the interim coach for Carolina Panthers. Moreover, the Panthers went onto take some serious measures, resulting in them firing defensive coordinator Phil Snow as well. Snow will be replaced by defensive run game coordinator Al Holcomb.

Will the Panthers be able to turn the fortune around for them, after the suspension of their coach? Or are they heading in for more misery? Remains
